Manuel R. Chapa, 61, passed away on July 19, 2023, at his home in Poteet, Texas.  He was born on June 18, 1962 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Fredricio N. Chapa and Manuela R. Chapa.

He was one of 14 children and a twin, life was not always easy, but he always found good in every situation.  Manuel was a long-time truck driver that loved music and people.  He was a jokester and was always playful to make you smile.  He was a very thoughtful man that loved everybody and would help you in any way he could.  Manuel was a very supportive husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He looked forward to Christmas every year where he would decorate, bar-b-que, and even go to his daughters' house in Windcrest, Texas to ensure she had her lights up and it was properly decorated.  He loved his kids and especially his grandchildren and he will be deeply missed.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Fredricio and Manuela Chapa; son, Junior Chapa; brothers, Mercede, Juan, Reynaldo, and Robert Chapa; and sisters, Mina Cantu, Gloria Garza, Elida Garcia, and Anita Chapa.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patricia Chapa; sons, Matthew Chapa, Christopher Mangum, and Dillon Chapa; his only daughter, Sara Chapa; siblings, Marcello (his twin), Frederick & wife Lupita Chapa, Grace Monroe & husband Willie Monroe, Beatriz Sanchez and husband Willie Sanchez, Martha Cruz, and Mary Carrillo; and grandchildren, Rosabella, Zeo, Jazlyn, Josiah, Daisy, Brock, and Brody.

The visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Hurley Funeral Home chapel from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed immediately by the funeral service at 3:00 pm.
