POTEET - Margarita C. Flores, a beloved wife, mother, and cherished yaya, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in San Antonio at the age of 60. She was born on September 13, 1963, in Brownfield, Texas, to Ernesto and Maria Anita (Balderaz) Coronado.
Margarita dedicated her life to her family, finding great joy in being a homemaker and providing unwavering love and support for her husband and their children. She was a proud member of the Guadalupana Society, where she served her community with compassion and generosity.
Margarita was an exceptional cook, captivating the senses with her flavorful creations, particularly her famous menudo, tamales, and sopapillas. Gathering her loved ones around the table, she created lasting memories through shared meals and laughter.
Margarita's vibrant spirit extended to the dance floor, where her love for music and movement brought joy to all who had the privilege of dancing alongside her. In addition to her love for dance, Margarita had a fondness for shopping. Whether it was scouring the local shops, she had an eye for fashion and beauty. Her impeccable taste and style will forever be remembered.
Margarita leaves behind a legacy of love and will forever be missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernesto Coronado; sister, Debbie Davila; and nephews, Casanova Florez, Jr. and Lorenzo Florez.
Margarita is survived by her husband, Robert Flores Sr.; sons, Robert Flores, Jr., and Raymond Flores (April); daughter, Sylvia Solano (Daniel); mother, Anita Coronado; brother, Raymond Coronado (Angie); along with 16 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel, starting at 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass will follow on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. Philip of Benizi Catholic Church, starting at 10:00 am with burial at the Flores Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Flores, Josiah Flores, Ethan Solano, Joshua Olvera, Nicholas Coronado, Victoria Coronado, Savannah Coronado and Jazalynn Lopez.
