Marguerita Rangel Castillo passed away on February 9, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born April 26, 1941, to Rosalio Rangel and Eusebia (Aguirre) Rangel in Floresville, Texas.
Marguerita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was an excellent cook and loved Mexican food and operated her own restaurant for many years. She was dedicated to her family and raised every one of her grandchildren. She loved gardening and bingo. Marguerita showed her love through family unity. She loved seeing her children and grandchildren gather around the home for the holidays, birthdays and barbeques. She preserved through tough times and loss of loved one while still caring for those around her. Her legacy of love will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years Anecleto "Chico" Castillo; parents Rosalio and Eusebia Rangel; Daughter Gloria Castillo; Daughter-in-law Sandy Castillo; Grandchildren John Alex Castillo, Jr.; Great-Grandchild Baby Bella; Siblings Fidencio Rangel, Willie Rangel, Canuto Rangel, Ray Rangel, Catarina Delgado, Lydia Sanchez.
Marguerita is survived by her daughters Gracie Robles (Alex) and Diana Ramirez (Gustavo); Sons John Castillo (Petra), Alfredo Castillo, Sr. , Oscar Castillo (April), and Allan Castillo (Shakati); Sisters Dolores Ortiz and Virginia Garcia; Brother Domingo Rangel (Cindy) She is also survived by her grandchildren Gloria, Angelica, Justin Mario, Brittney, Melissa, Andrew, Tony, Chris, Blas, Peter, Gracie Ann, Crystal, Alonzo, Alfredo, Jr., Jennifer, Angel, Desiree, Reagen, Bailee, Brandi, Jordan, Jonathan, Natalia, Maritza, Gustavo, Jr., Gavino, Vance, Emily, Camila, Gabriel, and Zena; Fifty-six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild along with numerous nieces and nephews cousins and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Alonzo Robles, Peter Robles, Chris Robles, Alfredo Castillo, Jr., Angel Castillo, and Reagen Castillo
A visitation is scheduled for Monday, February 17, 2024, at Hurley Funeral Home, starting at 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, starting at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Sotelo Cemetery off of Corgy Road.
