Obituary

In the loving memory of Maria Tomasa Guerrero, a cherished soul who graced this earth with her presence for almost 91 years. Born on May 7, 1933, in the tranquil town of Rossville, TX, Maria's journey on this realm came to a peaceful close on April 8, 2024, surrounded by the gentle embrace of nature's passing whispers. A devoted wife, nurturing mother, doting grandmother, and proud great-grandmother, Maria epitomized the essence of familial love and warmth.

Crafting memories and weaving love into the tapestry of her loved ones' lives, Maria found joy in caring for her family, preparing sumptuous feasts that nourished both the body and soul. Her culinary creations, flavored with love and seasoned with care, were a testament to her boundless affection. With a heart as vast as the open Texas skies, Maria reveled in family gatherings, the laughter of children, and the embrace of loved ones – these were the true treasures of her life.

A skilled seamstress, a green-thumbed gardener, and a connoisseur of finding beauty in the simplest of moments, Maria's essence was a radiant beacon of kindness and grace. Her humble abode in Sinton, Texas, was a sanctuary where love dwelled, where memories were woven into the very fabric of life. Maria was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sinton.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Jose Garces and Gerarda Lopez Garces; her loving husband Felipe Guerrero; sisters Maria Guerra, Josefa Guerra, and Elisa Soto.  She is survived by her children Felipe Guerrero Jr (Margaret), Aurora Marin (Juan Jr.), Jose Guerrero (Lupe), Julia Guerrero, Tomasa Martinez (Johnnie), Teresa Bradley (Dewit), Antonio Guerrero (Anita), and Laura Schramm (Jon); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
