Maria Louise Martinez of New Braunfels passed away July 15, 2023, at the age of 93.  She was born in Alice, Texas on August 28, 1929, to Manuel and Mercedes (Soliz) Sanchez.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Martinez; parents, Manuel and Mercedes Sanchez and sister, Vivian Leach.

Maria is survived by her beloved children including daughters, Rita Evans Martinez, Lucy Martinez, Jane Martinez and Mary Ann Hernandez and husband Paul, and sons, Pete Martinez, Fred Martinez, and Louis Manuel Martinez.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Larry Evans, Jr., Charlena Sones, Bruce Evans, Christopher Hernandez and wife Ashely, Julian Hernandez, and John Paul Hernandez and wife Jessica and great-grandchildren, Natalie Evans, Ariana Evans, Lucas Evans, Tyena Sones, Lailea Hernandez and Julian Hernandez.

Visitation will be conducted at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.  A rosary will be recited at 10:30 am, followed by mass at 11:00 am.  Interment will be at the St. Andrew Cemetery #1.
