It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Peter Burgard, age 76, a beloved husband and father. Mark passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas.

Mark was born in San Antonio, Texas, he then moved to Tilden, Texas at the age of 10. He graduated from McMullen County High School in 1967. He worked as a railroad engineer in Kingsville, Texas for Union Pacific railroad for 33 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rebecca and two sons, Ryan and Timothy. A sister, Pamela Holler (William), a nephew, Jonathan Holler (Laura), all of San Antonio, Texas. Also, surviving him are cousins, numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and friends all of which will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Elizabeth neè (Crain) Kuykendall, stepfather T. R. Kuykendall, and father Alva Peter Burgard.

A graveside service will take place at Hilltop Cemetery in Tilden, Texas on Monday, March 24th, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
