Martha "Marty" (Richter) Martin, age 73, of San Antonio was bestowed upon Heaven on March 24, 2025.  Martha Jane Richter was born on April 16, 1951 in Pleasanton to Raymond Vincent Richter and Mary Ann Richter. Martha was a precocious child but her sensitivity and kindness was evident from a young age. She served as drum majorette at Pleasanton High School, graduating in 1969. She frequently enjoyed reminiscing about her many friends. In 1972, Martha married Keith Martin. During their 20 years of marriage, she was a permanent fixture in the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo community. Martha was an administrative professional but found the most fulfillment from simple joys…surrounding herself with family or spending quiet time with the Lord.  Her steadfast faith was truly inspiring. Her life was a lesson in spiritual purpose and pure love. Martha's gentle soul was evident in her constant willingness to help others. She was also a dedicated advocate for animals, often rescuing and caring for cats that she found injured or abandoned.

Martha is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Richter; her five siblings: Eileen Horwedel, Robert Richter, Randall Richter, Nancy Wells, David Richter; her niece, Amy McDonald; her nephews: Jason Wells, Eric Wells, Aaron Wells, Scott Shearrer; and her devoted friend, Ken Ekstrand. Martha also touched the lives of her five great-nephews.  Martha was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Vincent Richter.

Martha Jane was a uniquely compassionate person who exuded warmth, which uplifted anyone who met her. We praise God for placing her in our lives…and she will never cease to be a blessing. Peace may be found in knowing that cherished traces of her love will forever be imprinted upon us.

Services for Martha are scheduled for Friday, April 4, 2025 in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel, starting at 10:00 am.  Her ashes will be buried with her father at St. Andrew #1 Cemetery following the service.
