Martha Ann Yarbrough

October 6, 1944 - July 30, 2025

Martha Ann Yarbrough, age 80, of Pleasanton, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 30th surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 6, 1944, in Temple, Texas, Martha lived a full and meaningful life rooted in faith, family and community.  She was the beloved wife of Bruce Yarbrough for 50 years and a devoted mother to Bradley and John Yarbrough.

Her life was a testament to kindness, patience and unconditional love.  Martha dedicated 40 years to teaching and was known for her unwavering commitment and compassionate spirit. She was deeply admired by her students and colleagues, and she was honored with Teacher of the Year multiple times throughout her career.

Outside the classroom, she enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with friends – especially her soul mate in friendship, Patty Zarosky. After retirement, she and her husband embarked on many cruises, visiting  places such as Alaska, New Orleans, the West Coast, and the Panama Canal.

She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for 10 years, where she formed lasting friendships and offered comfort and support to many.

Martha is survived by her husband, Bruce Yarbrough; her son, John Yarbrough; grandchildren, Robby Yarbrough, Kelsey Yarbrough, David Yarbrough and Alexis Yarbrough; her brothers, Boyd Robertson and Jim Bob.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bradley Yarbrough, and her brother Kenneth.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Trinity Hospice and her dedicated caregivers for their compassionate care.
