Marvin James Seifert, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather was called home peacefully on September 30, 2025, at the age of 93. Marvin was born on January 21, 1932 to his loving parents, Reinhold and Hilda Seifert in Orange Grove, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Clarence (wife - Gracie) and Norene (husband - Marvin Holubec).

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 68 years JoAnn Seifert, and 3 children: Ronald Seifert and wife Debbie, their children Reynard; Katrina and husband, Benji Cachau and their daughter, Skye. Debbie and husband, Mike Jaskinia; their children Stacy and husband, Bradley Koether and their children Caden and Cambry; Russell Jaskinia and wife, Katie and their children, Macie and Grayson; Terri and husband, Gerald Pruski; their children, Kevin Pruski and wife, Jessica and their children Callen, Lennox, and Patton; Kley Pruski and wife, Allison and their sons, Jensyn, Jerryn, and Jaxtyn; Kyle Pruski and wife, Shannon and their son, Wells.

In Marvin's youth, his family moved to Poth, Texas where he attended high school and was a member of the 6-man football team, proudly remembered as the "Poth 49ers". He played the position of left half back and was a vital part of securing the bi-district championship. (Six man football teams didn't go on to a state tournament in those years, so the bi-district game was the last one.) Just shy of graduating high school, Marvin enlisted in the Navy in January of 1951 during the Korean war. His time onboard the ship, USS Everglades, allowed him to travel the world and experience many different places including, various countries in Europe, Jamaica, Cuba, and the Rock of Gibraltar. After 4 years at sea, Marvin was discharged on November 11, 1954 and returned back to San Antonio where he began working at the Pearl Brewery. While attending a St. Luke's Church picnic, Marvin met the love of his life, JoAnn Kolenda and they were wed on May 11, 1957.

Together Marvin and JoAnn embarked on life, welcoming 3 children: Ronald, Debbie, and Terri into their world. A few years after the kids were born, they settled into their "forever home" in the small community of Loire, Texas. It was here that Marvin and JoAnn took on all the responsibilities of living in the country and became faithful parishioners of St. Luke's Catholic Church. Aside from working at the Pearl Can Plant, of which years later he retired, Marvin took great pride and joy in his farming and ranching life. He raised cattle well into his 80's. He loved to ride the gator or farm truck around the farm, tending to his cows, always with JoAnn and a dog by his side.

Pop, as the grandchildren called him, was a man of very few words, the kind who spoke more with a look or reassuring smile. He didn't need to say much for you to know he loved you; it was in the way he showed up, every time, without fail. His love for those around him was steady and unconditional, shown in all the little day to day things; trusting wholeheartedly in God, loving his wife, and devoting his life to his children and grandchildren. Now that he's gone, it's not the silence that's hard, - it's the weight of it without him in it. He will be dearly missed.

All services will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, starting with visitation at 9:00 am, followed by the reciting of the rosary at 10:00 am and the celebration of the mass at 10:30 am. Marvin will be laid to rest with Navy Honors in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
