Obituary

Mary Ann (Jasik) Vrana passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, in La Parita, Texas at the age of 71 years. She was born in Pleasanton, Texas on August 29, 1951, to Jerome Jasik and Claudine (Matocha) Jasik.

Mary Ann lived her entire life on the family dairy farm. She adored her dad and always wanted to be with him, milking cows, plowing a field, baling hay, feeding baby calves or any chore he was doing, she wanted to be with him. Truly a daddy's girl.

After graduating from Charlotte High School in 1970, she went to work at First National Bank in Pleasanton, Texas, and stayed there through all the buyouts and retired from Wells Fargo. She married her high school sweetheart and cherished first love, Albert Vrana, Jr. on October 16, 1971, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Jourdanton, Texas. They enjoyed 51 years 6 months of marriage and made their home on the family dairy farm in La Parita, Texas.

After retiring from the banking business, she stayed home for a while, then went back to work beside her loving husband at Pursch Motors Buick-GM. They both retired from there in March of 2016. She and her husband did everything together, traveling, working, playing, fishing, hunting and enjoying family outings. She was a simple person but smart, who enjoyed simple things and common sense beyond her time. She was affectionately known by her family as the supervisor. She loved the outdoors, country music dancing, and surf fishing with her beloved husband. She loved gathering with family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren. They all called her the best grandma ever.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, Albert Vrana, Jr.; daughter, Melissa Brown of New Braunfels; sons, Chad Vrana of La Parita, Wade Vrana and wife Brandy of Victoria, and Luke Vrana and wife Heather of Pleasanton; grandchildren, Sky, Lea, Beau and Reef Brown, Marina and Avelyn Vrana, Ethan, Wyatt and Brady Vrana; brothers, Jerome A. Jasik and wife Charlene, John D. Jasik and wife Willie Mae; sister, Annie Mae Belicek; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her stillborn, Baby Vrana.
