Obituary

Mary Ann Polansky, a beloved member of the Jourdanton community, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on August 2, 1934, in her hometown of Jourdanton, Texas, Mary Ann was the epitome of kindness, grace, and a genuine love for life.

Mary Ann graduated Jourdanton High school in1951, she dedicated nearly four decades of her life to Southwest Research Institute, leaving an indelible impact on her colleagues. Mary Ann was an academic scholar, earning two degrees, one from St. Mary's University and one from Southwest Texas State, proving the limitless possibilities that come with dedication and hard work. Her passion for ancestry and genealogy allowed her to connect with her past and honor the traditions that shaped her into the remarkable woman she was.

Mary Ann's adventurous spirit led her to explore the world, fulfilling her dreams of traveling and experiencing different cultures. Her warm personality and easygoing nature made her a joy to be around, cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mary Ann was a lifelong member of the St Matthew Catholic Church, and KJZT.

She is survived by her brothers James Polansky, and Ado Polansky Jr (Kathryn); Brother-in-law Lester Wilke; nieces and nephews Lisa Bustamante (Joe), Robert Polansky (Kristin), Amy Alvord, Ericka Palmer (Jason), and Michael Wilke (Sandra). She is also survived by seven great nieces and nephews, and four great great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Ado and Mary Elizabeth Polansky; sisters Georgia Polansky and Agnes Wilke.

All services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St. Matthew Catholic Church beginning with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, rosary at 11:00 am and mass at 11:30 am followed by burial at St. Matthew Cemetery.

Mary Ann will be remembered for her infectious smile, unwavering kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her, a testament to a life well-lived and a spirit that will never be forgotten.
