Wilkinson

Poteet
Maryann Kolisz Wilkinson
Maryann Wilkinson was born on March 23, 1944, to Valentine "Eddie" and Stella Kolisz. Maryann was raised in Yonkers, New York. She met and married the love of her life, Peter "Pete" Wilkinson in 1964 and moved to Texas to start their life together.
Pete and Maryann moved to Poteet, Texas in 1968. While raising her children, Maryann operated a small daycare out of her house for the teacher's children. Once her kids were raised, Maryann dedicated her time to serve at First Baptist Church Poteet as the church's secretary. She served for 38 years until her cancer required her to retire a couple of weeks ago.
Maryann was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Poteet where she loved to serve others. She enjoyed opening her home for youth parties and fellowships, hosting 4th of July parties for the church and numerous showers for many of the ladies in Poteet.
Maryann could be described as social, kind and adventurous. She loved meeting up with her "Lunch Pack", and her Spurs ladies group to watch the San Antonio Spurs games, and she was also an avid NASCAR fan, but nothing made her happier or prouder than spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Maryann was preceded in death by her husband and parents, as well as her sisters, Carol Faulhaber and Terry Bodnarchuk; and her son-in-law, Charles Locke.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Wilkinson Locke of San Antonio, TX; Cheryl Wilkinson Wyrick and husband Mike, of Hondo, TX; Philip Wilkinson of Adkins, TX; her grandchildren, Alan Locke and wife Christina of San Antonio, TX; Wes Wyrick and wife Cassidy of Hondo, TX; Rachel Chavez and husband Trey, of Midland, TX; and Race Wilkinson of Adkins, TX; great-grandchildren, Tyler Locke of San Antonio, TX; Kyle and Zoey Chavez of Midland, TX; her brothers, Ray Kolisz and wife Rose of Pelzer, South Carolina; Kevin Kolisz of Zanesville, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sandra Wilkinson of San Antonio, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 am on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at First Baptist Church Poteet, TX with interment to follow at Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet, TX. Visitation will be at 9 am on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at FBC Poteet. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church Poteet Youth Department, in her memory.
