No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. Matthew Michael Lawrence was born on Thursday, September 26, 1991 to Dawn "Michelle" and Ricky Jack Lawrence in San Antonio.

Matthew was received into the loving arms of our creator on May 4, 2024. Matthew was always a curious and compassionate child. Always trying to understand the world around him and how things worked. As a child he grew a passion for pumpkins, numbers, and electronics.

After graduating from Madison High School in 2010, he began studying briefly at ITT Technical Institute, with the dream of becoming a well-known inventor inspired by Nikola Tesla. Matthew loved to spend his time fishing no matter the weather, picking pumpkins, playing the lottery, working on inventions, watching his favorite movies, and listening to music. He drew inspiration while working on his inventions by listening to Elvis Presley. In 2011, Matthew successfully created his own landscaping business from home and always enjoyed working on and riding his lawn mower in his spare time. A cowboy at heart, and a humble provider, Matthew was a devoted son and protecting brother. He was such a loving and genuine person and always brought a smile to everyone's face. Matthew was a beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, and friend who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Dawn Lawrence; sisters, April Lawrence, Julie Acosta, Brittanie (Juan) Salazar, and brothers, Christopher (Courtney) Lawrence, and Justin Lawrence. Matthew is survived by his grandmother, Cheryl Bench, and uncles and aunts, Larry (Cheryl) Lawrence, Gerald (Wendy) Bench Jr, Ginger (Guy) Cohoe, and Gina Bretzke.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Lawrence; grandfather, Jack Lawrence; grandmother, Mae Lawrence; grandfather, Gerald Bench; great grandfather, E.B. Hodges, and great grandmother, Grace Hodges.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 am, in San Fernando Cemetery, 1735 Cupples Road, San Antonio, 78226.
