Merwin "Buddy" Tedford Turk Jr.

April 6, 1944 – January 18, 2025

Merwin "Buddy" Tedford Turk Jr., beloved husband, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 80.

Born on April 6, 1944 in Von Ormy, Texas, Buddy lived a life of service, creativity, and love. He was a proud American who served and protected his country and community. Buddy was a Vietnam era Veteran and also a retired firefighter, serving 20 years with Leon Valley Fire Department. He was also a talented artist, capturing the beauty and essence of the people and places he loved so dearly. When not creating art, he could often be found pursuing his passion for fishing, gardening, and golfing with his grandchildren and friends

He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Cathy Metting Turk; his sister, Merilyn Turk Nance; his grandchildren Taylor, Connor, and daughter-in-law Andrea D. Turk; grandchildren Brant, Dauphine, and Annemarie Turk, and daughter-in-law Andrea K. Turk. Buddy is also survived by his loving in-laws: Kim and Stephanie Metting, Diane Romans and Dallas Smith, Terry and Rob Ibarra, and Becky Fletcher, as well as his goddaughter Holly Beck Bohlmeyer and countless nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Buddy is reunited in heaven with his parents, Merwin Tedford Turk Sr. and Ruth Pegg Turk, and his cherished son, Casey Nicholas Turk, whose memory he carried with him always.

Buddy's legacy will live on through his family, his art, and the countless lives he touched. His humor, kindness, and creative spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
