Michael Hays passed away Wednesday May 17,2023, peacefully in his home at the age of 69. He was born on January 2,1954, in Denver Colorado, to Cleveland James and Doris Jean Hays.

Mike moved to Texas when he was a young adult with friends he met while working in construction. Those who met him knew he loved motorcycles, guns and fishing.  He also loved sitting outside listening to oldies rock-in-roll music, while smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer. If he wasn't sitting outside, he had many hobbies, including going out fishing with friends or fixing old cars with his best friends, Fred Serna and Renee Serna. Most of ya'll knew him as "Freebird" or "The Rattlesnake". He lived his life wild and free.

Michael was proceeded in his death by his parents, James and Doris; and his sister, Linda Hays; and his beloved, Gloria Delgado.

He is survived by his wife, Laticia Hays; children, Angelica Ortiz, husband Tony, Michael Hays, Jr., wife, Maria, Melanie Ortiz, husband Juan, Jennifer Hays Calhoun, husband Robert, Isaias Cruz, Victoria Willis, Bobby Delgado, David Joel Delgado, Katie Delgado, Bobby Garcia, Rebecca Ortiz-Coronado, and Regina Garcia; grandchildren, Arianna, Marco, and Daniella Ortiz, Adrian Delgado, Winston Hays, Brittany, Jackie, Sydney, and Julia Rodriguez, Nicolas and Joey Delgado, Frank Gonzales, Gabrielle Bohnert, Amri, Matilda, John, and Jennifer Cape, Juan Maximus, Johnny, and Gionni Garcia; 2 great-grandchildren, Zimri Rodriguez and River Mae Bohnert, along with numerous other grandchildren.

He also left behind his ride-or-die, his ex-son-in-law, Louis Rodriguez.
