It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Oliveado "Mickey" Hernandez Hasette, who left us peacefully on October 20, 2025. Born on October 2, 1938, in Tilden, TX, Mickey lived a life filled with laughter, love, and music.

Mickey, a dedicated truck driver for McMullen County, was much more than just his profession. He was known for his BBQ skills and his infectious love for singing. As a talented vocalist in the band Frio River Boys, he brought joy to many, whether he was belting out tunes on stage or having a blast at karaoke night. Mickey was a kind, thoughtful soul who made everyone feel special with his warm-hearted personality.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mickey's life on Friday, October 24th, 2025 beginning with a time of visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., reciting of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. and a funeral service at 7:30 p.m. all at Hurley Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest with a private family interment at Hilltop at a later date.

Though he has left us, Mickey's joyful spirit and the music he shared will forever resonate in our hearts. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Elisa Hasette; daughter Norma Jean Montez and her husband Emilio; son Edwin Dwayne Garza and his wife Jessie; half siblings Ray Rios, Ramon Rios, Elena Pena, Margaret Guerrero her husband Tino, and Dora Guerrero and her husband Anselmo; grandchildren Erica Garza, Alicia Montez, Ronnie Garza, Kyra Garza and Gavin Garza; great-grandchildren Jadon Kemp, Reid Kemp, Lauttyn "Lottie" Gutierrez, Oliveado Montez and Vicente Montez; and great-great grandchild Keagan Kemp.

Mickey was preceded in death by: parents Felipe Hasette and Hova Rios Stepdad Juan Rios, half brother Abe Rios, half-sisters Soveida Guerrero and Anita Alaniz.
