Obituary

Patrick Allison "Ticho" West passed away on December 4, 2023, with good courage and ready "to be absent from the body and at home with the Lord." - 2 Corinthians 5:8.

Ticho was born December 26th, 1949, to Betty Lou Hindes West and Richard Stanley West. Raised in Hindes, Texas, Ticho grew up in the ranching business learning the necessary skills of a cowboy from his grandfather, Leroy Hindes, and uncles, Bob and Roy Hindes. His youth was spent working cattle, roping, riding horseback, hunting, enjoying his cousins and helping manage the family ranch. Ticho attended Texas Military Institute in San Antonio for high school.

He spent several years away at college before returning to South Texas and to what he loved; ranch life and his high school sweetheart, Jan Thompson. Married in 1972, Ticho and Jan worked together for 51 years ranching, operating a dairy farm, raising quality white tail deer, and thoroughly enjoying their country lifestyle. Ticho's hobby, building handmade pocketknives, grew into a successful secondary business.

Jan and Ticho were blessed with two sons, Frank Hindes West, and Samuel Martin West who operate the family ranch today. Ticho viewed the ranch as a blessing God allowed him to enjoy and he loved sharing it with family and friends.

A longtime member of Community Bible Chapel in Pleasanton, Texas, Ticho was thankful for his church family and God's many blessings in his life.

Ticho was proceeded in death by his parents and older brother, Richard Hindes West. Surviving Ticho is his wife, Jan; sons Frank West and wife Tara of Austin, Texas; Sam West and wife, Jennifer of Jourdanton, Texas; grandchildren Madison, Logan, McKinley, and Jaxon; sister Amanda Thompson of San Antonio and cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to thank our family and friends for their prayers and encouragement during Ticho's final days. The family sincerely appreciated the compassionate care provided by Ticho's Doctors at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, and the staff at New Century Hospice.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Community Bible Chapel, 1176 W Oaklawn, Pleasanton, Texas.
