It is with both sorrow and celebration that we announce the passing of Patrick John Carlyon.

Patrick was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on February 3, 1956, in the community of Key West, Florida, Patrick was a true Floridian at heart, embodying the easy-going spirit and warmth of his birthplace.

Patrick will be remembered as a dedicated and hardworking individual who had several college degrees and careers as a Catastrophic Estimator and in the oilfield industry, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He held an associate's degree and exemplified a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence throughout his life, to the last of his career as a rancher with his wife.  Those who knew Patrick will easily remember his great sense of humor, his gift for jokes and storytelling, and the holiday joy he spread playing Santa for children at Christmastime.

Patrick will forever be cherished by his wife, Sharon Steed Carlyon; Patrick's great-aunt Mary Vanderlick and cousins from Alexandria, Louisiana; brother Michael Carlyon; the mother of Patrick's children, Leslie Carlyon; Patrick's children - Brenda Ali (Fahad), Sharon Koger, and James Carlyon; children by his late wife Janet Betts Carlyon - Trisha Osbourne, Felicia Hinojosa Clute (Matthew), and Travis Phillips; adopted sister, Claire Bell from Pueblo, Colorado; grandchildren are - Samantha Spencer Campbell, Jon Michal Spencer, Audrey Clute, Austin Clute, Alex Clute, Isabel Bacosa, Leighton Bacosa, Walter Bacosa, Maryam Ali, Abraham Ali, Aliza Ali, and Farah Alli; sisters-in-law - Mary Beth Nieto-Reyes (George), Judith Chason, Genevieve Schlaegel, and Sandy Jonas.

Patrick had many loving and Spiritual support and prayers from friends of the "Community Bible Chapel" of Pleasanton, Texas and had many great friend's and neighbors of Pleasanton. Patrick received a lot of support and prayers from his Spiritual adopted children from the "Great Oaks Fellowship Church" in San Antonio, Texas.

His devotion to his family and friends was unwavering, and his infectious smile brought joy to all who knew him.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Margaret Carlyon; late wife, Janet Carlyon; and brother, Tom Carlyon.

Sharon Steed Carlyon would like to give a special and immense thanks to the Owners: Tiffany and BC Compton from "The Olive Branch Floral, Design and Boutique" of Pleasanton, Texas for their long-time and loving support for her and Patrick.

A visitation for Patrick will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, located at 118 W. Oaklawn Road, Pleasanton, Texas, April 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to share stories and memories of his life. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, providing an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable man he was. Immediately following the service, he will be laid to rest at the Carlyon Family Cemetery, located at 1246 St. Augustine Road, Pleasanton, Texas.  After the burial there will be a reception held at Shifters American Grill located at 1177 W. Oaklawn Rd Suite A, Pleasanton, Texas.

As we gather to honor Patrick's memory, let us remember him for his warmth, his passion for life, and the love he shared so freely. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his legacy will be carried on through the lives he touched.

Patrick John Carlyon, you will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
