Peggy Dean Park Heinen passed away in Pleasanton on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at the age of 89.  Peggy was born in De Leon, Texas on September 28, 1936 to William Roy Park and Stella Mae Cogburn Park.

Peggy served as the Food Service Director for the Pleasanton Independent School District for almost 20 years.  Upon her retirement, she focused on taking care of the family ranch with her husband Dan, where she served as the official gate opener and cake slinger. Peggy loved to travel, and to study her family history.  She was fascinated by genealogy, and was active in multiple historical societies, including Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, and Dames of the Magna Carta, among others.  She proudly held multiple offices in those organizations.

She is survived by her children, Tonya Box Hubley (Dohn), and Mark Alan Box (Jenn), grandson, Talon Box, step children, Dan Heinen III (Eva), Dennis Heinen (June), Mary Ellen Hoybook (Michael), and Melissa Heinen-Bray(David), along with multiple step grandchildren, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Stella Park, her first husband and the father of her children, Buddie Ray Box, her second husband, D.D. "Dan" Heinen, Jr., brothers,Jerry Don Park and Buddy Royce Park, and her stepsons, Karl Heinen and Matt Heinen.

A private celebration of life will be held for Peggy at a later date.
