Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Pete Martinez III, who left us on April 2, 2026, at the age of 38 due to a tragic accident. Born on January 29, 1988, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, Pete was a vibrant soul with a passion for life that touched everyone around him.

Pete was a devoted father to his beloved daughters, Norma Martinez, Reina Martinez and Mileena Martinez, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his mother Irma Felan; brothers, Orlando Rodriguez (Jessica), Luis Ramos (Marla Longoria), and Juan Castillo; sisters, Mia Arguijo (Santiago), and Alicia Felan (Felix Salcedo); girlfriend, Nancy Centeno and her daughters, Destiny Cade, Angela Rosalez, Layla Cade and Kristie Cade; step-grandchildren Alexander Arreola, Thomas Arreola, Jonathan Arreol Jr, Ezekiel De Leon Jr and Catalina Pedroza; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Martinez, II; grandmother, Antonia Martinez; uncle, Alfred "Fred" Felan; and aunt, Ana Lidia Felan.

As a road construction worker, Pete dedicated his days to building and improving the infrastructure of his community. His work ethic and dedication were evident in everything he did. Outside of work, Pete's personality shone bright through his quick wit and sarcastic humor that brought smiles to faces far and wide. He loved fishing, sharing a cold beer, engaging in friendly competitions playing cornhole/washers, and video games, his favorite being Apex Legends.

Whether he was surrounded by family or hanging out with friends, Pete's warmth and joy were infectious.

In honor of his life, we will gather to celebrate Pete's memory. All services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home with visitation on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Though he is no longer with us, Pete's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His passion for life, love for his family, and a playful sense of humor will forever be cherished.

Rest in peace, Pete. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
