Rafaela Paez Haneline of Pleasanton passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at the age of 95 years, 1 month and 16 days. She was born near Leming, Texas on Friday, October 24, 1930 to Pablo and Angela (Aguilar) Paez.

She is survived by her daughters, Janice Joyce Love (Michael) and Sandra May Calvillo (Gilberto); her grandchildren, Samantha Nicole Calvillo, Malory Kay Ramos (Matthew), and Michael Lee Love; her great-grandchildren, Aubrey Rae Solis, Benjamin Anthony Valdez, Layla May Valdez, Mattie Kay Ramos and Shane Gilbert Ramos; her sisters, Adelfina Hargett (Jerry) and Isabel Gomez.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, J. D. Haneline; her parents, Pablo Ortiz Paez and Angela Aquilar Paez; her brothers, Martin Paez (Mildred), Concepcion Paez (Antonia) and Cleofas Paez; brother-in-law, Santos Gomez; sisters, Magdalena Nightingale (Plumber), Lorenza Wells (Larry) and Mauricia Paez; and great-grandson, Jack Ramos.

Rafaela Paez Haneline was a devoted wife, amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.  She was a giving, loving and a strong-willed woman. Rafaela enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved being outside, whether it was enjoying the weather or working in her vegetable and flower garden.

Pallbearers will be Michael Love, Gilbert Calvillo, Michael Lee Love, Matthew Ramos, Benjamin Valdez, Shane Ramos, Bruce Schroller and Ricardo Perez.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, starting at 3:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm, at Hurley Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 10:00am, at St. Andrew Catholic Church. She will be buried next to her husband, J.D. in St. Luke Catholic Cemetery outside of Loire.
