Ricardo Natividad Amador, age 67, was called home on Monday, February 2, 2026. He lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born on July 31, 1958, in Jourdanton, Texas, Ricardo lived a life rooted in connection, joy, traditions, and thoughtful reflection. He was the life of the party, and his contagious personality brought joy to everyone he encountered. With his stories, humor, and quick wit, he had a gift for making people feel welcome and at ease. He was also a teacher at heart, often reflective and intentional about sharing what life had taught him. Whether through a well-timed joke, a riddle, or a quiet conversation, he found ways to pass along wisdom gained from his experiences.

While he loved being surrounded by people, Ricardo also valued his moments alone. He appreciated the simple joys of life and found peace in reflection, always prepared with perspective, encouragement, or advice when it mattered most.

Ricardo was a loving son, brother, and father, and a devoted grandpa whose greatest pride was his family. His time spent surrounded by them was filled with laughter and teaching moments, which brought him immense joy. His famous line to his beloved grandchildren was, "Have fun and don't get caught."  Ricardo was wise, thoughtful, and funny, and there was never any doubt where he stood. He always had the right words and consistently stressed the importance of family.

Throughout his life, Ricardo volunteered his time as a Little League coach. He poured his energy into young athletes, teaching not only the skills of the game but also teamwork, resilience, responsibility, and character. He was the LOUDEST and proudest fan of anything his grandkids competed in and was a committed Jourdanton Indians fan, cheering with enthusiasm and unwavering loyalty.

Ricardo is survived by his sons, Christopher R. Amador and Nate Amador (Katelin), and daughter, Twila Marie Guajardo (Frank); sisters, Diane Johnson, Mary Walsh (Jacob), Helen Fontenot (Ray Henry), Felicita Amador, Margaret Garcia, Cecelia Benitta and Angela Martinez (Robert); grandchildren, Grey, Madeleine, and Frankie Guajardo, Stone, Jonas, Lana, Hadley, Bailey and McKinley Amador; and one great-grandchild, Vinicai Guajardo, all of whom will carry his lessons, laughter, and love forward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Natividad Amador and Aline Goins.

Ricardo leaves us with hearts full of appreciation for a life well lived. We are thankful for the moments, the wisdom, and the love he poured into those who were blessed to know him. Those gifts remain with us, steady and enduring, just as he intended. With hearts overflowing, we carry his love forward.

Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate his life. There will be a public viewing at Hurley Funeral Home on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM. A mass honoring Ricardo's life will take place at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest on the same day at San Jose Cemetery.
