It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Richard "Rick" Steven Dornak, of Weatherford, Texas, at the young age of 65 years old. He will be forever remembered by his family and friends, and most especially by his devoted mother, Garnett Lee Dornak, of Dallas, Texas; his former spouse Lynn Dornak of Corpus Christi, Texas and their three beautiful children, Nicole Grace Dornak Cole (husband, Wes Cole) of Waco, Texas and first grandson, Cooper Allen Cole;  Jessica Faye Dornak Rose (husband, Matt Rose) of Ft. Worth, Texas; Kirk Julius Dornak (fiancé Madelyn Alldredge) of Ft. Worth, Texas.

Rick will be remembered for his generous, giving spirit, love of the great outdoors, extraordinary cooking skills, and his countless number of friends. His love of the Dornak Ranch was beyond measure and his fried deer meat could have easily been declared as the best in Atascosa County. Whether it was a fun weekend with friends, gathering with his family, or a quiet weekend with his brothers at the ranch, Rick was in his element. Hunting and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed many summer sunsets in Matagorda Bay and attributed many of his finessed fishing skills to his beloved Uncle Jim Gann.

Rick was born in Jourdanton Texas, on December 26, 1957 to Garnett Dornak and the late Robert ("Bobby") Dornak.  Growing up, he was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. He attended Jourdanton ISD schools and graduated from Jourdanton High School in 1976. Numerous lifelong friends were made there and were a very important part of his life. He also leaves behind three loyal brothers, Allen Dornak (wife, Donna Dornak) of Dallas, Texas; Darrell Dornak (wife, Mona Dornak) of Victoria, Texas; and Jeff Dornak of Austin, Texas. Uncle Rick will be greatly missed by his niece and nephews:  Matt Dornak, Mitchell Dornak, Brad Dornak, Luke Dornak, LeeAnn Dornak, and Sam Wasmuth, Hank Wasmuth and Mac Wasmuth.

Rick will be always loved, never forgotten, and forever missed. May he rest in peace.
