Roberto S. Gonzales of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the age of 69 in Pleasanton, Texas.

He was blessed with a strong work ethic, a necessity for an oil field worker. He was a friendly man who never met a stranger. His sense of humor and funny faces will be missed by all.

He is survived by his daughter, Gabriella Mendiola and husband Daniel; son, Eddie Oropeza and wife, Jo Ann; daughter-in-law, Michelle Oropeza; daughter, Nancy Swanson; son, Robert Gonzales, Jr.; daughter, Cathy Gonzales; daughter, Tammy Gonzales; brothers, Juan Aguero (Juana), Billy Aguero (Josie), Carlos Aguero (Lucy), and Santos Aguero; sister, Johanna Flores; grandsons, Darren J. and Manuel J. Mendiola; granddaughter, Elena J. Mendiola; grandson, Steven Oropeza (Ashlee); granddaughter, Kianna A. Lopez (Mark); granddaughters, Meagan, Maria and Malini (Jacob) Oropeza; grandsons, Trinity C. and Sebastian J. Swanson; granddaughter, Selena A. Swanson; granddaughter, Priscilla Gonzales; grandson, Nicolas J. Gonzales; and three great-grandchildren.

Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Regino and Catalina Gonzales, wife, Maria Elena Gonzales, son, Manuel Oropeza and brothers George Villareal, Freddy Aguero, and Roger Aguero.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm.  Family and friends will meet and hold a mass on Friday, March 15, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, starting at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Charlotte Community Cemetery.
