Rodney Joe Balderas, 41, of Crystal River, Florida, passed away on April 23, 2023. He was born the fourth of five children to Mary Esther and Juan Balderas in Charlotte, Texas on Sept. 16, 1981.

Rodney graduated from Charlotte High School and went on to enlist in the U.S. Army as an aviation mechanic. He dutifully served in Operation Enduring Freedom and two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 101 ^st Airborne aviation division. Rodney was honorably discharged in 2006, and moved with his family to Citrus County Florida.

Rodney worked as a security officer for the Crystal Rover power plant, as well as a substitute school bus driver.

Rodney was a talented artist, specializing in pyrography. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with good friends, cooking, and being around family. He was always willing to lend a hand wherever needed.

Rodney's legacy will go on through his children. He was a loving father to three beautiful daughters, Noella(18), Adrianna(15), and Delaney(14). In addition to his daughters. Rodney is also survived by his sister, Valerie Gonzales and her husband, Robert, brothers Juan Jr and James Balderas, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom, Mary Esther, his dad, Juan, and his brother, Michael Balderas.

Please join his family and friends for his funeral at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Charlotte, TX on May 5 ^th , 2023. Visitation starts at 9am, and service begins at 10am.
