Rosa "Rosie" Figueroa, a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother and great grandmother, was called upon the Lord on December 23, 2024, at the age of 83. Rosie was born on April 27, 1941, to Jesus Cruz and Simona Diaz Cruz in Jourdanton, Texas. She was the youngest daughter of Jesus and Simona. She had six older sisters, five older brothers and one younger brother. She had great faith in God and would attend mass and pray the rosary.
Rosie spent her life as a dedicated homemaker, having married her husband Pedro Figueroa on September 21, 1963, at St, Matthews Catholic Church in Jourdanton, Texas. She loved to cook, having learned to cook many dishes from her older sister Eva and was very close to all her siblings, especially her sisters. She had a god given ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed, creating a feeling of joy in her home. Also, enjoyed caring for her plants and had a green thumb as well as a great sense of humor.
Rosie is survived by her loving husband, Pedro Jr., and her four children, whose lives she influenced through her compassion and love. Son Edward James Figueroa (Karen); daughters Anna Rose Morin (Fernando), La Mar Marie Martin (Joey), and Sandra Suzanne Gonzalez (Oscar); grandchildren Desiray Ewers, Ryan Ewers (Iza), Joshua Gonzales (Jamie), Colton Ewers; and great – grandchildren Devan, David and Derian Ybarra, Jose and Jessablle Gomez, Madison Jade Espinoza, and Addisyn Rose Gonzales; younger brother Alex Cruz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Honoring the life of Rosie Figueroa, the following funeral services will take place at St. Andrew Catholic Church. A public viewing will be held on January 3, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated on January 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM, leading to her burial at St Andrews Cemetery #2, location on Corgey Road in Pleasanton, TX.
In these moments of remembrance, let us gather to celebrate the extraordinary life of Rosie, whose love and spirit will remain forever in our hearts.
Rosa was preceded in death by: parents Jesus and Simona Cruz; grandson Matthew Lamar Martin; brothers Tomas Cruz, Edmundo Cruz, Abel Cruz, Alberto Cruz, Flavio Cruz; sisters Eva Garza, Linda Trevino, Alicia Hernandez, Minerva Salazar, Estella Cruz, and Mary Hansen.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Ryan Ewers, Joshua Gonzales, Colton Ewers, and great grandsons: Devan Ybarra, David Ybarra, Derian Ybarra.
