Santos Espinosa Leal, age 82, passed away at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Santos was born to Santos Leal, Sr. and Julia Leal.

Santos is survived by his 4 children; daughters, Becky Pacheco (Louis), and Michelle Leal; sons, Johnny Leal and Santos Leal, III (Stephanie); grandchildren, Louis Pacheco, III, J. C. Leal, Aaron Leal, Brittany Pacheco, Brandon Leal, Shelby Leal, Steven Sangster, Sierra Leal, Romi Leal, Nasario Elizondo and Olivia Elizondo; along with 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ester Leal; parents, Santos Leal, Sr. and Julia Leal; siblings, Toribio, Antonio, Frances, Beatrice, Lola and Tanis.

Santos owned his own business alongside his son, Santos Leal, III, known as Leal and Sons Roofing and Remodeling.  He was extremely well known and involved in the community.  For many years he was a coach with Pleasanton Little League, 14 years with the Pleasanton Volunteer Fire Department, obtaining the rank of Lieutenant alongside his wife, Mary and son Santos, III, and also served as a member of the Knights of Columbus for St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Santos was an amazing father, husband and grandfather.  He enjoyed dancing with his wife, doing carpentry work and being busy outside.  Santos will be deeply missed by his family, but he has now been reunited with the love of his life, Mary Leal in the Kingdom of Heaven, watching from above.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in the Hurley Funeral Home chapel, starting with a visitation from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a reciting of the rosary at 7:00 pm.  Services will conclude at the funeral home.
