It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah Isabel Huizar Murillo, 85, on March 6, 2026. Sarah was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend.

Sarah was born on November 5, 1940, in Leming, Texas and was the fourth child of William C. and Desidora (Salazar) Huizar.  She was a 1959 high school graduate of Pleasanton High School.  On April 13, 1960, Sarah married Raul L. Murillo and was blessed with four children, Sabrina, Mario, and Marco and infant son.  In May of 1980, Sarah completed her collegiate education, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Primary Education from Our Lady of The Lake University and worked for the Pleasanton ISD for 36 years.  She loved to spend her time gardening, painting and drawing, quilting, listening to music, and spending all the time she could with her children and grandchildren.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, William C. Huizar and Desidora Salazar, sons, Marco G. Murillo and infant son, brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Betty Huizar, brothers, Gilbert Huizar and Frank Huizar, brothers-in-law, Jaime Iragorri, Jesse Trevino, and Felix Murillo.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Raul L. Murillo, daughter, Sabrina and her husband Michael, son, Mario and his wife Patricia, grandchildren, Marrisa and husband Jaime, Marco and partner Reighlea, Gabriel and fiancé Jaden, Raul, Michael J. and wife Sam, Adam and wife Victoria, Thomas, great-grandchildren, Samuel, Ava, Raiden, Kailey Jo, Wesley, Braven, and Adalynn, sisters, Minnie Iragorri, Florentina Trevino and sister-in law, Antonio Murillo, and numerous nephews, nieces, and close family friends.

Services for Sarah are scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Hurley Funeral Home, starting with a visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a reciting of the rosary at 11:00 am.  Mass will follow at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 12:00 pm, with burial at St Joseph Cemetery - Leming.
