It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a well-lived life that we announce the passing of Sarah Zepeda, a beloved member of the Pleasanton community, who left this world leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and unwavering faith.

Sarah's spiritual life was a cornerstone of her identity. She was a dedicated member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where she found strength, hope, and inspiration. Her faith was more than a private matter; it was a living force that powered her actions and radiated warmth to everyone around her.

One of Sarah's greatest joys was her involvement in the cherished annual Cake Walk at the Picnic, held at St. Andrew Catholic Church. The Cake Walk was more than just a community event; it was a celebration of unity, tradition, and joy where laughter and the sweet aroma of homemade cakes mingled in the Texas breeze. Sarah poured her heart into the planning and execution of each picnic, organizing volunteers, baking cakes, and ensuring every detail was attended to with care. For her, the Cake Walk was an opportunity to connect, to serve, and to nurture the bonds that held her community together.

Sarah's dedication extended beyond her personal acts of service—she was the silent strength behind her husband, who served faithfully as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Whether organizing fundraisers, preparing meals, or simply offering a listening ear, Sarah supported the Knights' mission every step of the way. Her encouragement and tireless work behind the scenes contributed immeasurably to the group's success.

Sarah also extended her support to the Pleasanton Volunteer Fire Department, where her husband served with pride. She understood the sacrifices made by local firefighters and their families—the late-night alarms, the long hours, and the ever-present risk. Sarah was a source of comfort, encouragement, and sustenance to the department, always ready to lend a hand with fundraising events, community outreach, or simply providing a warm meal after a long shift.

At the center of Sarah's life was her beloved family. As a wife, she was a partner in every sense—steadfast, supportive, and full of love. As a mother and grandmother, Sarah's nurturing spirit shone brightly. She passed down favorite recipes, stories of her childhood, and the importance of faith, honesty, and hard work. Family gatherings at Sarah's house were filled with laughter, delicious food, and a sense of belonging that drew relatives from near and far.

Sarah Zepeda's memory will forever be a blessing to her family, her church, and her community. Her example will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Zepeda, son, Randy Zepeda, brother, Gregorio Segura, Jr. and wife Sylvia, sisters, Jo Ann Olivares and Mary Braisel and husband Richard, granddaughter, Annalyese Zepeda and fiancé Zach Sherman and her beloved cat, Daisy.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Adelino "Chewy" Zepeda, parents, Gregorio and Juanita Segura, siblings, Lucia Ybanez, Joe Segura, Donato Segura and Maggie Zepeda, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Olivares.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Pleasanton, starting with a visitation at 9:00 am, a reciting of the rosary at 9:30 am and a celebration of mass at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at Hilltop Cemetery in Tilden, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Adelino "Chewy" Zepeda.

Hummingbirds embark on majestic journeys risking all to rebirth their lives as nature's tiny champions.  They pollinate blooms perfecting beauty, spreading joy and ushering peace.  Each spring we eagerly await their return, marveling at their aerial dance; their buzzing wings a symphony of freedom.  Though autumn's departure brings sorrow, we find solace in their promised return.  Let us cherish life's fleeting moments for like hummingbirds, we too must journey on.  Yet, our essence endures eternal and free.  May divine grace guide us knowing hummingbirds always find their way home.
