Shirley Louise Bouchillon of Pleasanton, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the age of 88.  She was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on January 24, 1937, to Herbert L. Fortenberry and Gay (Wilkes) Fortenberry.

Shirley was always smiling and known for her great sense of humor. She worked for many years as a chiropractic assistant in San Antonio.  She was sometimes a bit of a ham and never hesitated to entertain her family with a song.

Shirley enjoyed cowboy movies, ice cream, fishing, painting, singing, and dancing.  She had a deep love for animals and rescued many strays over the years.   Shirley lived her life grounded in a strong and abiding faith. More than anything, she loved her family — especially feeding them with her wonderful home-cooked meals.

She was a deeply devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She is now at peace in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior and is reunited with loved ones who went before her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert L. and Gay Fortenberry; daughter, Vicky Beck; sister, Ozella Kolmansberger; and brothers, Leston, Frank, Curtis, Ray, and Alvin Fortenberry.

She is survived by sons, Ricky of Rosenberg, Willie (Delynn) Bouchillon of Pleasanton, and Lance (Stacie) Bouchillon of Pleasanton; daughter, Kim (Tom) Wood of Belton; grandchildren, Andy (Brandi) Bouchillon, Matthew (Kayla) Bouchillon, Jeff (Dionne) Shipwash, Jon (Kirsten) Lollar, Brenton (Cassie) Bouchillon, Conner Bouchillon, Amberly (Matthew) Grauke, Jeff Salvato, and Barrett Wood.  Shirley was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren among other family and friends.
