Shirley E. Haman of North Leming, passed into the loving arms of her heavenly Father on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the age of 92. She was a resident of Atascosa County for 30+ years. She was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on February 19, 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. Harry R. Eikleberry.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rickey Haman; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Eikleberry; sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Verble; her mother-in-law, Eileen Emmert; sister-in-law, Vandra J. Haman; and nephew, Richard D. Haman.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 1/2 years, Leonard F. Haman; sons, Bill of Universal City, Larry of New Braunfels, Ronald of Portland and son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd L. Haman of San Antonio; daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kelsch of Portland; along with 19 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
Shirley married Leonard Haman on March 9, 1962 in El Paso Texas, where he was stationed in the Army. She was a very humble person and made many sacrifices for her children. After moving to San Antonio in 1969, she was involved with Valley-Hi Little League from 1975 through 1976, running the concession stand, a member of the West Campus High School Sports Booster Club and helping her husband wherever she could.
Shirley was deeply involved in studying the Scriptures from a Messianic Jewish point of view, which she thoroughly enjoyed and was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church in Pleasanton. She was also extremely supportive of her husband throughout his military and civil service careers, and he credits her with the raising of their children and the way they have succeeded in life.
Services will be conducted at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton starting with a visitation on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a funeral service the next day, Thursday, October 2, 2025 starting at 11:00 am, followed by a procession to Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery for a 1:30 am committal service.
