Obituary

TROY ALLISON BAIRD
March 12, 1964 - March 4, 2025

Our care-free loved one, Troy Allison Baird, passed into her new life in the arms of Jesus Christ on March 4, 2025. She was born on March 12, 1964, to James D. Baird, Sr. and Eudith (Troy) Baird.

Troy was a happy child and became a lovely piano player, even though it wasn't her favorite hobby.  She attended high school close to home in Harahan, LA and graduated from Riverdale High School in 1981.

While Troy was living in Harahan, LA, she began her long career with Dyke Industries and worked there for over 25 years.  When Troy moved to Slidell to live with her mother, she briefly worked for Home Depot.  But Dyke soon realized the strong force that was Troy - she was quite possibly their fastest data entry employee that they had ever had.  She quickly became immersed into the door business and could easily put their sales team to shame with her knowledge; but Troy was all heart and always treated everyone with respect.

Troy moved around quite a bit after her mother, Eudith, moved to Las Vegas to be closer to her grandson.  Troy moved to cities in Texas such as Midland and Poteet (near San Antonio).  But her heart definitely belonged to North Dakota.  Troy appreciated the beauty that North Dakota offers and was headed that way right before her untimely departure from us.

Troy was definitely a daddy's girl, and she always enjoyed the rugged side of life.  She was very skilled at operating her own 4-wheeler and side x side - and mostly when those vehicles were immersed in mud!

Troy's life was defined by her dedication to her family and friends.  She had the biggest heart of anyone in the family, even though that heart is what took her away from us at such an early age.  Although she is gone from us here on Earth, it brings us great comfort knowing that her favorite person in the whole wide world, her Daddy, is the first face she would see when passing into her new & peaceful life.

Troy is survived by her mother, Eudith Troy Baird of Gulfport, MS; her brother, James D. Baird, Jr. of Gulfport, MS; her nephew, James "Dean" Baird, III of Gulfport, MS; her sister-in-law, Jannezy Baird of Gulfport, MS; her cousin Tim Hammers of Sardis, MS; her cousin Mike Hammers of Nashville, TN; her cousin Leslie Lee Crawford of Memphis, TN; her cousin Ricky Crawford of Hendersonville, TN; and her Goddaughter, Amber Boone Riley of Norco, LA.

Troy Allison Baird will be cremated, and her ashes will be buried at her Daddy's grave in Bakers Chapel Cemetery in Hernando, MS.  The burial will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, with a small Celebration of Life gathering to follow immediately after the burial.  The gathering will take place at Seafood Junction in Byhalia, MS.
