William "Bill" Eugene Charbonneau, age 94 of Jourdanton, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. He was born in Seattle, Washington, to Erwin Eugene and Dorothy (French) Charbonneau, on January 24, 1930.

Bill lived his early years in northern California, and worked in California, Illinois, and Maryland as an underground tunnel construction worker. He served in the Army, in Washington, during the Korean War. Bill was married to Betty, until her death in 1984.

He then met Beatrice Salazar, whom he married in 1986. They lived in Lake Zurich, Illinois. In 1998, after retiring they moved to the family farm in Jourdanton. They loved to travel in their Winnebago, to visit family in Washington, Oregon, California, Illinois, Iowa, Virginia, Rhode Island, Florida, Wisconsin, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado.

Bill loved country music and dancing with his wife, Bea. He loved to spend time his time at the family ranch riding his John Deere, growing vegetables, and building things. Bill always loved to see his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, while having gatherings at the family farm.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; children, Bob Ward of Colorado, Pattie Stevens of California, and Mary Foster of Virginia; stepchildren, Adelina Campbell of Texas, Ricky Gomez of Illinois, Jim Gomez of Arizona, David Gomez of Texas, and Juanita Psonak of Illinois; 16 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Audry, Jean, and Diane; brothers, Dwayne and Paul; stepsisters, Dottie, and Melody, and stepmother, Celia.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
