William Martin Meaney, M.D.

July 7, 1948 to May 9, 2025

William (Bill) died peacefully of complications of Parkinson's disease on Friday, May 9, 2025, surrounded by family who loved him. He was 76.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerta Jane Crowder, M.D., and his brother Mark Meaney. He is survived by three siblings, John Meaney, M.D., Michael Meaney, and Carol Halperin, as well as 7 nieces and nephews, Rachel (Andrew), Hilary (Chris), Patrick, Peyton (Mindy), Mark, Steven, and Ruth, and great nieces and nephews Olivia, Connor and Scarlett.

Bill was truly a Renaissance Man. He earned his M.D. at UT San Antonio Health Sciences, and was a Board Certified Psychiatrist. He was also a pilot, a sailor, a marksman, a world traveler, and an author of "Through the Hunter's Prism," along with many other pursuits. Bill was so loved, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank his wonderful caregivers, as well as Yellow Rose Hospice.

A mass for Dr. William Meaney is scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 365 St. Francis Avenue, Campbellton, starting at 11:00 am, with burial to follow at Campbellton City Cemetery.
