With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Willie Gomez Cordova, passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 25, 1941, in Amphion, TX, Willie was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend known for his warmth, generosity, and infectious spirit.

Willie dedicated over 40 years to Jourdanton Independent School District, where he faithfully served as the Transportation Director, ensuring the safety and well-being of countless students. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love for family. Married for 64 wonderful years to his beloved wife, Gloria, he took immense joy in their life together, nurturing a loving home filled with laughter and memories.

Willie was a social butterfly, always friendly and outgoing, leaving an imprint on everyone he met. He adored his grandchildren, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with them, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories.  A thoughtful community member, Willie was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying the true essence of kindness and compassion.

He is survived by wife Gloria Cordova; daughter Gloria Linda Cordova (Diane Elizardi-Cordova); grandchildren Sharon Delgado Sanchez (Augustine), Crystal Cordova (Joe Gower), Cathleen Cordova, Nick Guerra (Madison), Ian Elizardi (Ashley Moreno), Todd Rennie (Daisy Pardo), Charlisha Guerra, Larryssa Guerra, and Beaux Guerra; great-grandchildren Brianna Coronado (Chris Rodriguez), Rueben Coronado (Brittany Medina), Adrianna Coronado (Kenny McDonald), Christine Coronado, Taylor Vlasak, Richard Vlasak, Mara Gower, and Gaia Gower; great-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN Cason Rodriguez, Jahki McDonald, Anaya McDonald, Seline Coronado,  Braeden Rodriguez, and Kallie McDonald; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Family and friends are invited to honor his life and legacy. A visitation will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Jourdanton on June 11, 2025, from 9:00 AM, followed by a Rosary at 10:00 AM. A Mass will be celebrated in his memory at 10:30 AM that same day. Following the services, Willie will be laid to rest at San Jose Cemetery on La Parita Road, Jourdanton.

Willie's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Willie was preceded in death by: parents Gilbert and  Matiana Cordova; son Willie G. Cordova Jr; brother Gilbert Cordova Jr.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Rodriguez, Kenny McDonald, Ruben Coranado, David Cordova, Joe Gower, and Richard Vlasak.
