Obituary

Wilma Dean Shuman passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in San Antonio at the age of 83.  She was born on April 22, 1941, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Eddie D. Rigensberg and Grace (Joslin) Rigensberg.

She was a wonderful woman who loved to read and found joy in gardening and admiring flowers. Wilma was known for her welcoming nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone she met.

She was a hardworking individual who was dedicated to her family, especially her children. Wilma was described as the best mother and mother-in-law, displaying unwavering love and support for her loved ones. She found happiness in simple pleasures like driving around and admiring the beauty of flowers.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence James Shuman; parents, Eddie D. and Grace Rigensberg; and brothers, Eddie Rigensberg and Darrell Rigensberg.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Huggins (David); son, Eric Shuman (Susan); grandchildren, Grace Huggins, Nathan Huggins (Lorna), Jacob Huggins, Corey Shuman (Elanna), Nicholas Shuman and Georgette Jenks (Justin); and great-grandchildren, Miles Huggins and Ororo Huggins.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Pleasanton Church of Christ, starting at 10:00 am.  A private burial will be held at Pleasanton City Cemetery.
