Alma Annie "Poerner" Boenig, age 89 of Devine, Texas went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2021. She was born on April 2, 1932, in Devine, Texas to parents, Emmanuel Poerner and Clara Theis Poerner.
She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Herman Son's Lodge Dunlay, Woodman of the World, Ladies Auxiliary VFW. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Boenig, by parents and stepfather Bernard Ehlinger, by sisters, brothers, and sons-in-law Mark Allen Aguilar, and Roger Lockhart, special friend Amos Hitzfelder.
She is survived by her daughters Barbara Lockhart, Sharon Aguilar, Leanna (John) Steuber. Grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, former sons-in-law Ricky Byrd and George Pruitt, large extended family, and lots of dear friends. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021, 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Hurley Funeral Home Chapel Devine, Texas. Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 3, 2021, 10:00 A.M. St. Joseph's Catholic Church Devine, Texas with interment to follow at St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery. Per the family's request it would be appreciated that masks be worn.
